Colonic
Hydrotherapy
Hi, my name is Greta Rose. I'm a practicing Colonic Hydrotherapist at an integrative doctor's practice in Edgecliff, Sydney. I’ve been in clinical practice for over 5 years, treating and educating a range of patients to improve their intestinal health and optimising the gut microbiome through Colonic Hydrotherapy and diet/lifestyle changes.
Colonic Hydrotherapy encourages the removal of potentially toxic and unwanted waste from the bowel while retraining the muscles in the colon needed for a healthy bowel motion. It supports and encourages detoxification, optimises digestion and can assist in regulating bowel function.
The Benefits of Colonics
Colonic hydrotherapy may assist with a range of
health conditions including:
Constipation
Fecal Loading
Poor Memory and Concentration
Slow Bowel Movement
Weight Management
Fatigue and Low Energy
Gas/Bloating
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
Poor Detoxification
Gut-associated Mental Health
Candida Overgrowth

How does it work?
Colon hydrotherapy has been used for hundreds of years, dating back to 1500 B.C. as a traditional and integrative approach to support a range of health outcomes.
Based on ancient Ayurvedic and Egyptian practices, Colon Hydrotherapy (gravity fed method) involves the gentle fill and release of the large intestine. The warm filtered water enters the colon from a source that is located above the body utilising gravity to allow for a gentle flow of water. This method results in a relaxing and gentle approach to the therapy. The natural peristaltic motion or squeezing of the bowel is activated once the water enters the bowel resulting in a natural stimulation and release. This means we are retraining the muscles in the bowel to stimulate a natural movement both inside the colonic room and at home.
Why
Colonics?
Our colon's primary job is to eliminate waste, toxins and prevent the growth of potentially harmful pathogens, including bacteria, fungi and parasites. The average colon contains over 2000 species of microflora and bacteria which aid in digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function and so much more. The human gastrointestinal tract represents one of the largest interfaces between the human and its surrounding environment, including diet and lifestyle.
Your gut is linked to nearly every facet of your health, from your immune system to your hormones and headspace.
All disease truly does begins in the gut, - Hippocrates
It’s thought that colonics can aid the function of a healthy digestive system by:
Reducing the likelihood of imbalances in gut microflora (dysbiosis) which is associated with disease progression in a range of inflammatory, immune and gut-associated diseases.
